Just call me a free man

I have been voted in as full time music/youth minister at FBC Belmont, in Belmont MS. This is an answered prayer. This is an opportunity that I have prayed about for a long time. This will give me an chance to serve at a church and devote my time to one thing. I'm excited about that.

The longest night of my life

This has by far been the longest night of my life. Alaina has taken a trip with her sister to N. Carolina. I have Hattie in Red Bay. Not to mention the fact that she slept a lot on the way home She is refusing to go to sleep. It's very unlike Hattie to cry. She just doesn't do it. She has cried since we arrived here at 8:45...it's now past 12:00. I am about to go crazy. The only thing that is wrong with her is that she is sleepy...but will not sleep. Therefore no one else sleeps. Maybe she will sleep soon.

Up and at em

Hattie woke up this morning. So I was awake. Now she is asleep. I am still awake. I have several things I need to do today: Cleaning, Clothes, Floors, etc...

We bought Hattie's Christmas presents the other night. Even though this isn't her first Christmas, it's the first one where she knows something is going on. We are excited.

Keep going and going and going....

Today was a very long day and tomorrow is going to be even longer. We are going to Lawrenceburg to visit the Amish. I hear they are nice folks. We are getting up early. I can't say that I'm a fan. I was really looking forward to this saturday when we didn't do anything. That isn't going to happen. I'm sleepy

Then the next day is sunday. The day I actually get to do my job.  It's hard to figure out what the best part of the week is; during the week I get to play with Hattie and on Sunday I get to lead worship. My least favorite day is probably Saturday. The day that won't stop. Yep. That's it.

Man, I'm bad at this

As I figured, I started out doing this and have slipped into not doing it as much. I hate that about myself. To fill you in on what has happened around here. Alaina's birthday was yesterday and we celebrated by me getting her breakfast, sending her flowers to work, and then cooking her a "gourmet" steak dinner for supper.

Today we leaving for Red Bay. tomorrow and Saturday Alaina and some friends from Red Bay will be yard selling. I will be hunting. Right now out living room is filled with all our yard sell stuff... It's a lot of stuff...

Time for declutteration!!!

And here with us today is...

Alaina, she is staying home today. She doesn't feel all that well one because of a very long sunday and Hattie decided that she wanted to wake up about every two hours last night. So that meant everybody else in the house woke up too. Doctors and parenting experts alike say that it is very important for babies to be on a schedule especially in the first few months but this also carries over into toddlers. It's hard for young children to determine when day and night are. For instance when Hattie wakes up at midnight she is ready to play. She has no idea what time it is or what time even means. This creates a dilemma  for parents because we know that she needs to sleep and we need to sleep. So usually we have to go through the whole process of giving her some milk and usually she will go back to sleep pretty quickly but now it's 1am and you are wide awake. This usually only happens when we get off schedule on the weekends. It's not something that can be helped because we don't know what our weekends will look like sometimes until after they have already happened. And I know a lot of people hate mondays. I especially hate mondays. We get back from the weekend and now I've to make sense of all of the stuff that we packed for the weekend. This is one reason I have greatly reduced the amount of clothes I pack. That way I don't have to sort everything out when I get home I can just dump everything in the dirty clothes. Speaking of which I need to get on that...

Ready to go for a wild weekend

So today starts a marathon that will not be over until sunday night. Hattie is still asleep and I have a lot to do today so this will be short. I go to Rogersville to pick up the check, come home get everything ready to go, when Alaina gets home we pack the car and head to Tupelo. Once in Tupelo we drop Hattie off with my parents and I take Alaina out for her birthday. We get back and hopefully sleep that night. I will get up in the morning because it's the first day of bow season go down behind maw maws house and stay there for a little bit. The game is at 11:00 so we have to be back home by then. After the game we go to my cousin's wedding after that come back to the house in Tupelo maybe do a little more hunting and then head home. Then get up on sunday and do my non-SAH dad thing at church. Starting at 5:00am...yep it's going to be a fun weekend.
